Spend for a Cause & Let Your Heart Show!

Unfamiliar with what the social service industry does? Interested to find out how you can make a difference in someone's life? Here’s the chance for you to educate yourselves as well as spend for a cause!

We are a group of Year 2 students from Nanyang Polytechnic’s Diploma in Social Sciences (Social Work), and we will be organizing a charity bazaar on the following date:

11 December 2012 (Tuesday)
11 am to 6pm
Nanyang Polytechnic Atrium*
*Open to the public.

The theme of this upcoming charity bazaar is “EXPOSED – Let Your Heart Show”. It aims to raise awareness of social services in Singapore and also help Voluntary Welfare Organizations (VWOs) raise funds.

We recognise that many people are generally not familiar with the social service industry and the work we do. Hence by “exposing” the public to social services, we hope to encourage more people to open their hearts and contribute to charitable causes

To date, the participating VWOs include Ang Mo Kio Family Service Centre, Asian Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA), Fei Yue Family Service Centre, Metta Welfare Association, Cheshire Home, Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation, Singapore Association for Mental Health and Caregiving Welfare Association.

The various VWOs will be selling a wide array of items ranging from hand-made products to food. There will also be a lucky draw with attractive prizes.

Furthermore, Soundcard and talented NYP students will be giving exciting performances.  For all the Coke lovers out there, free cans of coke will be given out to all those who visit the bazaar (a big thank you to Coca Cola for sponsoring us).

Last but not least, here comes the main highlight of the event! Our dear friend, Sharity Elephant, will be dropping by the Bazaar from 2pm to 4pm. That’s not all; the first 100 participants who visit the Bazaar during this timeslot will be entitled to a free Polaroid with Sharity. Do drop by the Atrium from 2pm-4pm so that you will not miss out on this rare opportunity!
